The artists taking the stage on August 13 in Mont-Carmel!

The Mont-Carmel Summer Concert Series continues every Sunday night of the summer until August 27 at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall.

The artists who will take the stage of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall on Sunday, August 13, are Les Bouches Bées from Québec, Dueling Pianos (featuring Craig Fair & Ben Aitken) as well as Kevin Chaisson & Friends.

Roxane Filion, Janik V. Dufour and Flavie Léger-Roy started performing together in university nearly 10 years ago.  Together, accompanied by Raphaël d’Amours, they form the group Les Bouches Bées.  This Québec-based group currently has three recordings to its name:  Au fil des avenues (released in 2015), Compte à rebours (released in 2018) and Les trous dans les cœurs (released in 2021).  This group performs with the same authenticity that characterizes their third recording with an acoustic approach: vocal harmonies, guitars, banjo, fiddle and percussions.  Their intimate show could easily take place on a patio, a riverbank or a stage.  Addressing the importance of sticking together during hard times, these songs full of love warm the soul and the heart!

Craig Fair and Ben Aitken have been entertaining audiences across PEI and the Maritimes for over two years. Craig, originally from Ontario, and Ben, from PEI, met during the Spring of 2021 and immediately got started on this long running project. Dueling Pianos perform regularly at The Salvador Dali Cafe in Charlottetown on Saturday nights.  They also perform during a variety of events and private parties. Both Craig and Ben know how to make the keys of their pianos dance and venues resonate with their powerful vocals.  A dynamic duo you do not want to miss!

Kevin Chaisson, a piano player from Bear River, has deep roots in traditional music on Prince Edward Island. The Chaisson Family is known for being influential in keeping traditional fiddling alive on the Island and they also run the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival each year. Several Chaisson family members represent Prince Edward Island on the international music stage, most notably Kevin’s son, Tim Chaisson, as a member of renowned groups The East Pointers and 6 Hearts.  Kevin will be joined on stage by members of the Chaisson family.

The show will start at 7:00 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m. During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for members of our Cooperative, $5 for students and free for preschoolers. Given that seating is limited, folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at cdcpmc.eventbrite.com.  If any tickets are left, they will be made available for purchase at the door on the night of the show.  Spectators can also purchase their tickets on site for all other shows this summer.

The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
