Closing Concert of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival!

The Closing Concert of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival, organized by the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC), is taking place on Sunday, October 1 at 7 pm at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall.  This show will feature the group MAZ as well as the Chad Matthews Band.

Formed in Shediac, New Brunswick, back in 2019, the group MAZ, which features Josée Boudreau, Isabelle Bourgeois, Ginette Caissie, Denise Guitard, Alex O’Brien, Jean-Marc O’Brien, Guy Mazerolle & Mathieu Brun, enchants audiences with their vocal harmonies, family stories and captivating music.  The group is primarily formed by members of the Mazerolle family as well as a few adopted musicians from the region.  In 2022, MAZ added to their repertoire a “campfire” style show that highlights a variety of songs that range from folk to country with a nice blend of francophone and anglophone songs which are often sung around campfires.

Chad Matthews is known amongst the music scene in Prince Edward Island.  Often, his shows are sold out.  He recently started performing on stages in other Maritime provinces and throughout Canada. Chad writes and records his original songs including one about COVID-19 entitled "I don't know about you". His most recent recording "Let's take a minute" was produced by David Rashed Productions and was released in the fall of 2022.

The show will start at 7:00 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m. During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for members of our Cooperative, $5 for students and free for preschoolers. Given that seating is limited, folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at cdcpmc.eventbrite.com.  If any tickets are left, they may be purchased at the door on the night of the show.

The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
