MEAT PIE FESTIVAL DU PÂTÉ - THE GRAND FINALE IN RUSTICO!

The Farmers’ Bank of Rustico & Doucet House Museums are thrilled to invite the public to the finale event of the Meat Pie Festival du pâté.  Finalists from each of the six regional competitions held from tip to tip of Prince Edward Island will compete to determine who makes the best traditional meat pie and the best non-traditional meat pie in PEI.  Everyone is invited to join us for this event taking place this Saturday, December 16 at the Cymbria Lions Club (2184 Church Road, Rustico) at 7 p.m.!  Please note that the storm date is Sunday, December 17.

On November 26, regional competitions started in search of the best traditional and non-traditional meat pies in PEI.  All 1st place regional winners in both categories will be present for this finale event in Rustico.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three meat pies in each category.  The 1st place winners will receive $500, the 2nd place winners will take home $250, and the 3rd place winners will walk away with $125.

“The Farmers’ Bank of Rustico and Doucet House Museums are very pleased to spearhead this Island-wide festival featuring the Acadian meat pie” indicates Arnold Smith, President of the Farmers’ Bank of Rustico and Doucet House Museums.

This event will reunite folks from each of the six corners of our province under the same roof in the oldest Acadian community in our province. Attendees will be entertained by a traditional kitchen party featuring musicians representing different regions across PEI.

Our celebrity chef for the night will be Sarah Bennetto O'Brien.  Sarah is the Chef/Founder of The Handpie Company in Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island. Bringing chef-crafted comfort food to Island plates and hands, since 2017 is what she's all about!  With popular handpie flavours ranging from the Maritime Meat Pie to Curried Chickpea, Sarah truly knows what makes a pie perfect.
